iPod: 2 Weeks Later

I've had my iPod about two weeks now and have loved all the things that I can do with it. However, there are a few things that kinda irritate me.

Photo Organization

I've loaded some photos on there, but it doesn't preserve the hierarchical structure the way they are on my server. For example, if I take my photo directory (which has been painstakingly organized into separate folders) and drop it in iTunes, then it basically lumps all my photos together in one area inside the iPod. This isn't a problem if you have a couple dozen pictures, but not if you have thousands!

Which Audio Book Is It?

Another similar problem has to do with audio books. I have an audio book that is spread over a hundred chapters. Well, inside the iPod navigation, it recognizes each chapter as a separate audio book. Meaning that if I want to browse to a certain book, I have to go completely through every single chapter of another. What a pain!

Song Order In Play lists

There are a lot of times that I'll whip up a play list and want to be able to change the order of a song. No can do. You can add and remove songs from play lists, but not change what order they play in. While I realize that the number of buttons on an iPod is limited, can't we work something out?

Well, despite these 'annoyances' I'm having a wonderful time. I no longer have to listen to Annie Lennox and Kenny G over my work's speaker system. I can slam in the Red Hot Chili Peppers or the Smashing Pumpkins for a change. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely buy it again!
